I'm always do something wrong

Today has been a normal Monday in the sense that I still had Sydney-May for the day but today was the first Monday she didn't have Leo to play with and for the most part she was good I played with her a bit more today than I would normally do.

Although after she got home Kathy rang me to tell me that she didn't think I fed her enough she had 3 hash browns her mum bought her for breakfast and she ate all of them so I didn't both giving her anything else and after her nap I could some rasin toast for her and she ate pretty much all the 3 slices I made her and she had a small bottle of milk about 125mls along with some of the apple juice I gave her. She didn't seem to be hungry she was not crying or anything like that but what should I expect as I never seem to do anything right as far as she is concerned..............

When Kathy got here to pick her up I was on the floor playing with Sydney and I did read to her Dinosaur Roar & Ten Terrible Dinosaurs which she really seemed to like.

  1. Beautiful baby -- love her hair!

It often feels that way (that we can't get it right) with our kids, doesn't it?

Have a great day today. :)

  2. You are an adult making reasonable choices about your grandchild's wellbeing and have the right to make your own decisions. I'm guessing you are not being paid and you say that Sydney-May was happy, fed and content. Her appetite will vary from day to day. If I was minding any children there is no way I would ever feed them hash browns or any junk food! Unless you have agreed to detailed care instructions, your daughter should be grateful that you help out and do an excellent job!

  3. Kathy should be grateful for you minding Sydney. it sounds like Sydney was perfectly happy. i must agree with Elyssa in that hash browns are not exactly a healthy breakfast for a little kid.

  5. What a cutie patootie! Adorable.

I wouldn't put too much stock in what her Mom says if she feeding her daughter fast food hashbrowns for breakfast when you, at least, tried something a bit more healthy in raisin toast, juice and milk. She is just a baby and junk food?

Ask her to provide the food or at least a detailed list of what she wants you to feed her. That way you can't go wrong.

  6. Sydney-May does look like a little cutie. I can't believe that Kathy phoned to say she didn't think you had fed her enough. What she had sounds fine to me and, if she was really hungry, she would have been crying to let you know. Sometimes as a mum, it does seem that we can't do anything right!!

  8. Hi Jamie

She has very fine hair and yeah with Kathy it's just the way she makes me feel.

    Hi Elyssa

Kathy did send porriage for me to give Syd but since she ate all the hash browns and was happy playing I didn't think to give her the porriage. I wouldn't dream of asking to be paid I watch Syd because I love my grand daughter and enjoy spending time with her, also I am one of the few people Kathy feels comfortable leaving her with.

    Hi Yevisha

Kathy has a terrible habit of making me feel like I am not good enough I know she doesn't mean to but she does, I know she appreciates me watching Syd I just wish she would show it more.

    Hi Craziness abounds

Yeah when I took the photo we where playing peek a poo.

    Hi SkippyMom

I know I have to have a thicker skin were Kathy is concerned she says things and doesn't think how what she says can hurt.....Hubby told me to just lie to her but that isn't me........

    Hi Thisisme

If Syd acted like she was still hungry I would have fed her more Kathy told me that what I consider to be ok is not ok by her standards but I said I think I know what I am doing.

    Hi Becca

Yeah she is a cutie and I know I did a good job, I may not know much but I know how to look after a child.

  9. sounds to me like you handled it just fine. you don't want to overfeed babies, either. they'll let you know if they're still hungry.

    she's a little doll!
